No doubt that high gloss stone attract millions of peoplBut stains or scratches, the main cause of losing gloss are sometimes can be seen in a very small area. In this kind of case, overall polishing work will be time consuming. You will only need to polish just the part of the marble but if the tools are too large, you will have to polish the neighboring area all over again.

"Polishing" is the process that makes scratches to the surface. By changing the grit size, these scratches become smaller and smaller that finally the surface looks like mirror. So if you polish the neighboring area that is already shined, you will have to go through all the polishing process to the final again.

Normal wear and tear and the use of harsh chemical cleaners can dull marble. Polishing marble is an easy task that you can do as often as once a month to keep your marble looking lustrous.

The following steps illustrate how to polish marble by yourself.

Step 1

Examine the marble surface for stains.

Step 2 :Marble Honing

This step honing removes visible scratches and stains from the marble. It enhances the shine and smoothness of the marble. For this diamond floor polishing pads with grit 100 and 200 are used and are effective.

Step 3:

Apply a small amount of polishing compound,Choose a low-speed polisher or a soft cloth. ,Work in small sections. Only work on one small section of 1-2 feet at a time to create an even finish and avoid having your polishing compound dry out or begin to clump up.

Step 4: Marble Polishing

Work in the polish. If you're using a soft cloth, make tight, circular movements. If you're using a polisher, slowly move it in a controlled circular motion. When you finish with the flat sides, polish the corners with a soft rag, continuing your circular movements.

Polishing gives shining effect to the marble . For marble in good condition, polishing is enough to bring back the shine. Industrial diamond floor pads with grit 400, 800 and 1500 are efficient.
