DIY Marble Table For Home Décor

Marble has always been the most beloved natural stone throughout the history. The marble rage is back again these day in the home décor section. If you have recently done a large scale remodel of your house which includes marble tiles or marble slabs then chances are pretty high that you are left with high quality remnants of this beautiful stone. You can use these leftovers from your previous construction project in some wonderful DIY projects. There is a possibility of re-purpose for even marble tile scraps and small pieces. You can transform these marble remnants into brilliant table tops, coasters, mosaics and other incredible stuff.  With the help of a good saw, circular or wet, you can even shape them according to you needs.

First things first, you’ll need to paint the hairpin legs gold. To do this, I washed them thoroughly with soap and water since they’re unfinished steel, and then I primed them with a good coat of BIN primer and let it dry.

For making the perfecting gold finish, I gave them each two light coats of gold and let them dry in between. To make sure they’re not easily scuffed since this table is going to be front and center, let the metallic gold coat dry completely and then spray it with a thorough coat of spray shellac so that it has a nice, hard coating on it once it’s dried completely.

This way you’ll avoid the weird fingerprints that often happen to the gold paint and it will make it more resistant to scratches.
