A.     Check the floor to make sure they are solid.

B.     Check the slopes on the floor.

C.    Strengthen the floor if necessary. You can reinforce your floor with another plywood or cement floor.

D.    Find the center of the room. Check the layout of marble tiles and avoid having a small edge at one end of the floor. To maintain a symmetrical appearance, place the starting tile on the center line.

E.     Use mortar, preferably thin mortar. Lay your marble tiles on the mortar. Use this starting point to unfurt the mortar and mark with the mud knife.

F.     If you apply mortar at the seam of the floor, use the tape to prevent cracking at the seams.

G.    Place each marble tile on the mortar and place a 1/16 inch tile space between it and the next tile. This will ensure that the completed project has a uniform appearance.
