Let's start by talking about how marble gets it's shiny polished surface. Polished marble is achieved by physically polishing the marble's surface from its natural shape and texture (which is usually very rough) to a very beautiful smooth and shiny surface.

Clean towels

Polishing powder

Stone sealer

Masking tape

Protective mask and gloves

Solvent-resistant paint brushes

Wet polisher/grinder/sanding machine

Step 1: Protect Surrounding Surfaces

Step 2: Strip Wax and Sealant from Marble

Begin the process of removing existing wax or sealant from marble by thoroughly shaking a can of stripper

Step 3: Sanding Marble

To begin the sanding process, attach the coarsest grit of the recommended diamond polishing pads to the sanding machine and cover the project surface with clean, cold water. With this grit, make two to four passes using a side-to-side motion

Step 4: Final Touches of Marble Polishing Process

To begin the final stage of the marble polishing process, add a buffer pad to the machine and dispense the manufacturer-recommended amount of polishing powder onto the marble surface.
