As an igneous granite, it is one of the toughest materials you can use for surfaces:
Hardness: Ranks 6–7 on the Mohs scale, making it significantly harder than marble and very resistant to scratches.
Heat Resistance: Excellent. It can handle hot pots and pans far better than engineered quartz.
Porosity: Low. While it is resistant to stains, it is still a natural stone and should be sealed periodically.
